Jackrabbit Crossings
The Montana Department of Transportation is beginning a project to widen and repair Jackrabbit Lane. While the road is under construction, Utility Solutions has the opportunity to install pipe sleeves across Jackrabbit at a largely reduced cost compared to boring. Utility Solutions is working with Montana Department of Transportation and the Gallatin County Board of Health to get pipe crossings at several locations along Jackrabbit to access properties on the east side of Jackrabbit.

This project will include:

  • Pipe sleeve crossing Jackrabbit near Valley Center Road
  • Pipe sleeve crossing Jackrabbit near Hulbert Road
  • Pipe sleeve crossing Jackrabbit lane near Baxter Lane
  • Pipe sleeve crossing Jackrabbit lane north of Huffine Lane

Ultra-Violet Disinfection
The Utility Solutions wastewater treatment plant discharges treated effluent under Montana Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) permit MTX000110. It serves properties in the Elk Grove Subdivision and the Four Corners County Water & Sewer District. Utility Solutions’ Facility Plan, as approved by MDEQ, requires improvements to the wastewater treatment plant as the volume of treated wastewater increases.  The increasing amount of treatment made it necessary to begin disposal at the Utility Solutions’ Rapid Infiltration Basin and add Ultra-Violet Disinfection to the wastewater treatment plant for effluent disposal.

This project includes:

  • An Ultra-Violet Disinfection system
  • Construction of a building to house the disinfection system and controls
  • Wastewater Treatment Plant Site improvements, including electrical, piping, and site gravelling
  • Rapid Infiltration Basin maintenance and testing

Update:  The UV Disinfection project was completed in September 2010.

Elk Grove Public Water Supply Well #3
The Elk Grove water system operates under Montana Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) permit PWSID MT0004248. It serves the properties in the Elk Grove Subdivision. The water usage demands placed on the Elk Grove water system have increased as the Elk Grove Subdivision approaches full build-out. A third water supply well is necessary to meet the increasing demand. In order to add Well #3 to the existing system, it had to meet the current MDEQ requirements at the time of submittal. These requirements influenced the size of Well #3 and required the addition of chlorine disinfection and backup power.

This project includes:

  • The development of a third potable water supply well for the Elk Grove Subdivision
  • Well site improvements, including fencing, site electrical, valve vault, and piping
  • A chlorination system for the Elk Grove water system
  • A backup power generator for the Elk Grove water system
  • Controls and telemetry hardware for the third well, chlorination system, and generator
  • Booster station improvements, including electrical, safety equipment, chlorine analyzer, flow meter, ventilation, spill containment, and access provisions

Engineering services for the Elk Grove Well #3 project were provided by Morrison-Maierle, Inc. Well drilling was performed by Haggerty Drilling. Project construction was provided by Williams Civil Division.

Update:  The Elk Grove Well #3 project was completed in May 2009.

Northstar Public Supply Wells #3 & #7
The Northstar water system operates under Montana Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) permit PWSID MT0004284. It serves the Four Corners County Water & Sewer District which includes properties in the Northstar Subdivision, Galactic Park Subdivision, Rainbow Subdivision, Black Bull Run Subdivision, Middle Creek Parklands Subdivision, Gallatin Heights Subdivision, and several adjoining properties. Increasing water demands on the Northstar water system made it necessary to develop two water supply wells as approved by MDEQ.

This project includes:

  • The development of two potable water supply wells for the Northstar water system
  • Well site improvements, including pumps, pitless adapters, piping connections, and site electrical
  • Controls and telemetry hardware for wells #3 and well #7

Engineering services for the Northstar Wells #3 & #7 project were provided by Morrison-Maierle, Inc. Well drilling was performed by Haggerty Drilling. Project construction was provided by Williams Plumbing & Heating.

Update:  The Northstar Wells #3 & #7 project was completed in February 2009
